About Daniel

Involved in the martial arts at a very young age, Dan found that the three most important aspects of his training and development were: self-discipline, physical and spiritual awareness. After a decade and a half later of martial arts training, in a muay thai/kickboxing class, he was introduced to yoga. He could feel and see those very same aspects he developed (in the martial arts) in the ancient Indian system and immediately embarked on his yogic path. With his regular practice of the Ashtanga Yoga system (including Mysore-style), exploration of other systems, and participation of several teacher intensives, workshops, and Ashtanga intensives with Ashtanga guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Sri R. Sharath, and Saraswati, and various certified and authorized Ashtanga teachers, he was given the opportunity to teach yoga at local studios and fitness centres, for the past few years. He always brings a keen sense of body awareness and alignment, calm demeanour, and a big smile to all of his classes with the intent to guide, motivate and inspire every one of his students. Dan teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Intro at Santosha centretown.
